Through a unique collaboration, companies will from today be able to easily tag financial and sustainability data to meet new legal requirements. CtrlPrint and Ethos Atlas facilitates data collection and reporting and supports compliance with new legal requirements.

The introduction of CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) has a direct impact on a company’s annual report and requires sustainability to be included in the management report. The new rules aims to ensure that investors and other stakeholders have access to information needed to assess the impact of companies on people and the environment including financial risks and opportunities arising from climate change and other sustainability issues. The first companies will have to apply the  new rules for the first time in the 2024 financial year, for reports published in 2025.

CSRD also introduces European sustainability reporting standards (ESRS) that aim to make sustainability data as comparable as financial data. The reporting must be based on a double materiality analysis, including information on environment, social, corporate governance and overall information. In addition, all reports must be tagged and machine-readable, as the financial reporting standard European Single Electronic Format, and made available to the public.

Ethos, a leading consultancy specializing exclusively in sustainability, and CtrlPrint, a top collaboration platform for corporate reporting, are developing an efficient, transparent, and verified approach to CSRD-tagged sustainability reports. Together, they will streamline the reporting process, enabling companies to stay compliant with CSRD requirements and easily manage and report their sustainability data.

With Ethos experts on sustainability, companies will get support in conducting double materiality analysis, identifying essential KPIs, and verifying sustainability data. CtrlPrint’s streamlined data connection integrates data with reporting text, tagging, and layout, creating an efficient, end-to-end solution that moves data from raw collection to an integrated, CSRD-compliant report. This process simplifies compliance, providing companies with a structured, reliable, and user-friendly path to meet reporting standards as they take effect.

"Through the collaboration with CtrlPrint, we can offer our customers a complete solution for their annual report which is not only efficient, but also comprehensive, reliable, and future-proof. The reaction from our clients has been very positive, says Malin Lindfors Speace, CEO at Ethos.

"Our collaboration with Ethos is part of CtrlPrint’s commitment to broadening our network with environmental management consultancy experts," says Mikaela Senator, Sales Director at CtrlPrint. "By enabling seamless dataflow and a roll-forward approach we make CSRD reporting less stressful, more time-efficient and eliminate compliance risks for our clients."
